Cheltenham assistant manager Neil Howarth claimed his players "showed their character" following the 3-1 win at Macclesfield.

The away side came back from a goal down to claim all three points and move top of League Two. Goals from Sido Jombati, Jeff Goulding and Luke Garbutt sent the Robins top after Marcus Marshall had given Macc the lead. After the game, Howarth said: "It's been a while since I was top of the league either as a player or a coach and coming back here and winning from a goal down, with Southend and Crawley not playing, has given us a psychological lift just at the right time." Asked what the Robins need to do to remain top, Howarth added: "More of the same. It's so easy to let the players get on with it. "We have got some very good players and once they cross the white line, I am the most relaxed than I have been for a couple of seasons - the decisions they make out there 90 per cent of the time are the correct ones."
