Cheltenham captain Steve Elliott has agreed a new one-year player-coach deal with the Robins.
The 35-year-old will stay at Whaddon Road for a fifth season and look to add to his 175 appearances while stepping into the coaching side having recently passed his UEFA B qualification. "This is a fantastic opportunity for me," he told the club's official website. "The club have given me the opportunity and it is a no-brainer for me. I want to help develop the younger players at this club and to be a part of the gaffer's staff will help me take that next step in my career too. "I had the opportunity to take a one-year playing contract at another club but once this was offered to me by Cheltenham then it was an easy decision to make."
