Millers end pursuit of Dons ace

Rotherham manager Steve Evans has ended his interest in AFC Wimbledon striker Jack Midson.

Evans had a formal bid for former Oxford frontman Midson turned down on Wednesday and following further talks with the Dons the former Crawley boss said the deal was now dead. "Jack is a good striker and he's always been a thorn in our sides when he's played against us," Evans told Rotherham's official website. "I spoke to Terry Brown, who spoke to his chairman, and as he always does with me whether it's Crawley or Rotherham, he refuses our offer! "Terry came back to me and said that they wanted a certain figure and to be fair I think the deal is now dead. "The figure they have indicated they would be willing to sell Midson for is beyond where I would value him."
