Former Rotherham winger Gareth Evans claims he did not get a chance under manager Steve Evans.
The 24-year-old was released by the Millers on New Year's Eve after being frozen out at New York and signed for League Two rivals Fleetwood the following day. Evans was a star player under former boss Andy Scott last season, but failed to make the same impact under the new management and did not feature after the defeat to Wycombe in mid-November. And the former Bradford man feels aggrieved at the way he was treated by Millers boss Evans. "It was disappointing what happened with Rotherham really," he said. "When I first went there, Andy Scott signed me on a one-year deal. I could have gone elsewhere last summer but the manager there stated that he wanted to keep me in his plans. "He gave me a new deal, better terms and my record at Rotherham wasn't bad at all really considering the number of games that I'd played. "So it was disappointing really for the manager to then sort of shut me out and not really give me any game time. "I still feel that if he'd played me for four or five games, ninety minutes in my natural position, that I would have started coming to fruition but I never really got that opportunity."
