Evans praises battling Millers

Rotherham boss Steve Evans hailed his side's performance after Tuesday's 2-0 win over Bradford.

Now four places above the Bantams, the Millers find themselves sitting in the final automatic promotion spot on goal difference following their victory. Evans said: "It is nice to go into third place. We have won our last three games and we go into our final two games with confidence. "You know when you come to Bradford, they are a physical side in their own right and have also got some top players. "But I thought we came here and matched them toe to toe and what pieces of quality play there were came from the Rotherham players. We thoroughly deserved our victory. "It was nice to see the second goal go in because you know when you come to Bradford there will be a lot of pressure at the home end. I cannot remember our keeper making a save. "You know you have got to go into the trenches against Bradford so our play lacked a bit of fluency in terms of passing. "But this was an end-of-season League Two promotion battle with the winner taking all and it might stop Bradford from getting into the play-offs. "You could see in my players' eyes how important the match was. They were focused."
