Davis: It's full steam ahead

Crewe boss Steve Davis called on his side to make sure they succeed in securing a play-off place after a 3-0 win over Bristol Rovers.

The Railwaymen are now just outside the top seven on goal difference after quick-fire goals from Ajay Leitch-Smith and Kelvin Mellor sank the Pirates with just six minutes gone. Harry Davis added to the visitors' woes with a second-half penalty as Alex extended their unbeaten run to 12 games and drew level on points with seventh-placed Oxford. "The lads have done brilliantly to get us into this position - now they have to make sure they finish the job," said Davis. "We deserved what we got, the lads worked hard under pressure and the clean sheet was really good. "The lads are just getting on with enjoying their football and haven't shown any signs of pressure and are just doing a good job for us. "We have just got to keep doing what we are doing. There is no magic formula, it's just hard work on the training ground and everyone is putting in solid performances and that's all you can ask from them and let's see where it leads."
