Wilder was wary of Macc attack

Relieved Oxford boss Chris Wilder admitted that his side had no divine right to beat minnows Macclesfield following their 1-1 draw.

Tony Diagne put the Silkmen in front on the hour mark when he headed in the rebound after on-loan striker Scott Boden fired a volley against the underside of the bar. Robert Hall rescued promotion chasing Us, though, when he skipped in off the right wing in the second minute of injury time and fired a low shot which was deflected inside Jose Veiga's near post. The equaliser extended the Oxford's unbeaten run to seven games but Wilder paid tribute to the visitors, saying: "Macclesfield get written off every year but they've beaten teams like Swindon and Northampton already and there is no way they will struggle this season. "They've got some good players and they give it a real go, and they will feel really disappointed to concede a late goal but we knew if we kept going, denied them a second, that we'd always get another chance. "The important thing is we've extended our unbeaten run to seven games even though teams will always feel that with players like Michael Duberry in our side that we are there to have a go at. We work hard for each other and give it a go but this is a tough, tough league and our players have got to accept that."
