Aldershot's on-loan midfielder Scott Davies hopes to have impressed manager Dean Holdsworth on his first league start.
The 23-year-old rejoined the Shots for a third time at the end of October having penned a deal from parent club Crawley which runs until January. But Davies has had to be patient in his bid for a starting berth in the league, stepping off the bench five times before finally getting the nod in Saturday's 1-0 victory over Shrewsbury. And he helped play his part in Aldershot's first league victory since November 1 as the Hampshire outfit saw off a Shrewsbury side who were unbeaten in eight. "I was pleased to start and I knew I would have to be patient, and it was good to get the chance," he told the club's official website. "I hope I have done enough to start next Saturday. We have some massive matches coming up. This is a really close league and I hope we can build some momentum. "I am really enjoying being back here. Everybody has been so welcoming again and it is great to be around the club."
