Manager Phil Parkinson picked out skipper Gary Jones and James Hanson for special praise as Bradford overcame Morecambe 3-1.

Hanson put City ahead before Kyel Reid doubled the advantage. Andy Parrish pulled a goal back for the visitors before summer signing Jones, who produced another man-of-the-match performance, sealed things with a superb 20-yard free-kick. "It was a top-class finish from James Hanson," purred Parkinson. "His all-round performance was good. His work ethic and his defending set plays was spot on. He is superbly fit and a fantastic athlete. "If you were a centre-back you wouldn't have liked to have been marking him. He just needs to keep going. "And Gary deserved his first goal for the club. What a captain's contribution that was. I am so pleased for him. His free-kick was a terrific finish and the timing was great because we were rocking slightly at that point. "My only complaint is that we lost our cool by making a couple of rash decisions at the back early in the second half. But that is being highly critical of my team because after that we played some terrific stuff."
