Parkison hails provider Jones

Image: Parkinson: Pleased with Jones' contribution

Phil Parkinson saluted set-piece specialist Gary Jones after Bradford clinched a 2-0 victory at Oxford on Saturday.

Jones, the Bantams skipper, was the provider as first Andrew Davies powered home a header from a corner after 52 minutes and then Nahki Wells flicked the ball in for a second from close range, from another Jones corner 16 minutes later. Parkinson said: "They were fantastic deliveries but I've got to give Andrew Davies credit as well. He's been brave and gone in where it hurts for the first one. "And for the second it was a great run by Rory McArdle at the near post to set it up, and I'm delighted because we've been working with him on that." Parkinson added: "Away from home you've got to stay strong and we did that. Getting that first win on the road is so important and hopefully we can build on this. "Obviously Oxford had lost a few games but I know they are a good side, they're just on a bad run at the moment."
