Alexander: First half was poor

Fleetwood boss Graham Alexander was left frustrated by his side's first-half display as they lost 3-1 at Northampton.

Jake Robinson struck twice in the first half before Clive Platt netted shortly after the restart to put the Cobblers on the way to the three points before Jamie Allen grabbed a stoppage-time consolation. "It was a disappointing day, disappointing for the fact we didn't play like us in the first half," he said. "In the second half I thought we did a lot better, we got the ball down and passed it through the midfield. "We did some good stuff but it wasn't enough to get back in the game. We conceded two poor goals early on and that puts you on the back foot. You're going to get crosses and you're going to get things coming in your box and you have to deal with it, but we didn't deal with it. "We didn't deal with the initial attack either so it's one of those that we'll look at it on the video, we'll speak to the individuals in the team involved and well try to fix it because its not going to be the only time we come under that pressure and we have to deal with it better than we did. "What can you do when throws are coming in from 40 yards outside your box, corners are coming in, things are going on around the goal? You have to deal with it, it's a side of football which is there, and it's been successful for them so hats of to them."
