Allen content despite draw

Gillingham boss Martin Allen was pleased to pick up a point at York despite his side missing the chance to claim top spot.

Following the 1-0 win at Bradford at the weekend, Allen admitted that he was happy with a haul of four points from six, but he felt his side failed to create enough chances to win. He said: "It was a tough game. I didn't like it when I saw York lost 4-0 on Saturday at Wycombe. Obviously we've been up in Yorkshire for a few days preparing, but when you play a team who have lost 4-0 then you're going to have your work cut out. "We weathered that storm in the first half and we stepped higher up the pitch in the second half and we went after them more. "I thought in the second half we played very well but didn't create many chances and I don't think our goalkeeper had a save to make in the second half. "I would normally go for the win but I've had to pull myself back a bit. "Four points from two away games is a good tally for where we are in the league. It's a good clean sheet and a fantastic effort from our players once again."
