Sheridan looks to build on point

Plymouth boss John Sheridan wants his relegation-haunted side to build on their goalless draw at home to Bradford.

Both sides hit the woodwork with on-loan Crystal Palace forward Jason Banton's angled 51st minute shot smashing off an upright before City target-man Garry Thompson's 80th minute volley from 20 yards beat home goalkeeper Jake Cole but looped up off the top of the bar. And the point saw Argyle move ahead of Accrington on goal difference, and Sheridan now has his sights set on escaping the drop-zone. "It was a workmanlike performance and it gets us off the bottom but now we want to get out of the bottom two, so Fleetwood on Saturday becomes a must-win game again," said Sheridan. "Bradford are a good team, with some good players for this division and they should be right up there. "They have been beating Premier League teams and they have only just been in a cup final so I thought we did very well against them given all that. "Hey, we competed with them, and we competed well. We have just got to carry that attitude forward and if we can do that I think we can stay up. "I think it was a good battling point. I can't fault the players I think they worked their socks off. "We just didn't get that little break. They have had one or two chances, we have had one or two chances and I can't fault our effort. "I don't think we played great but if we keep playing like that we will win more than we lose."
