Goddard pens Rovers stay

Bristol Rovers manager John Ward has confirmed midfielder Jordan Goddard has signed new one-year deal with the club.

The 20-year-old penned his first professional contract with the Pirates last summer after coming up through the youth system, and has now earned himself another year at the Memorial Ground. "People like Jordan need opportunities to come through, and we want to give them that chance," Ward told the club's official website. "If they make it here, that is terrific, but if they don't that extra year gives them an opportunity to play as high as they can elsewhere."
