Burnett turns focus to next game

Dagenham & Redbridge boss Wayne Burnett has urged his side to quickly bounce back from a 2-1 loss at Plymouth in League Two.

Plymouth moved up to 14th in the table and extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to seven matches thanks to Luke Young's 77th-minute free-kick from 25 yards following a foul on man of the match Reuben Reid. Reid opened the scoring in the 44th minute with a cracking shot on the run from outside the area that flew in off the inside of the post. Seconds later, Zavon Hines levelled from six yards following a defensive mix-up but the Daggers have still never beaten the Pilgrims in the league. Burnett said: "Obviously we are disappointed to lose this one but the reason football is such a wonderful game is that we have got a match at AFC Wimbledon on Tuesday to look forward to and we must look to pick ourselves up and go again. "Plymouth's not an easy place to come to but I felt in the first half we were in control of the game. I thought the second half was even and they came at us a little bit more, but you expect that because they are the home team, you are going to be under pressure. "I probably think that a draw would have been a fair result but is it meant to be? "We are creating chances but if you are creating them then you have got to put them in the back of the net. The principles of the game don't change, it's about both boxes. "Keep them out at one end and put them in at the other end - and they have done that better than us today so I have got no complaints. "I am disappointed with a couple of the referee's decisions but I have got to be careful what I say. Overall a decent performance, we will learn from it and we will go again."
