Robbo keeping Dons grounded

MK Dons boss Karl Robinson is adamant his players will not get carried away after securing their 3-0 home victory over Port Vale.

Robinson's troops were up and running as early as the fourth minute thanks to Stephen Gleeson's wonder strike and Ben Reeves made it 2-0 soon after. Reeves then turned provider in the 31st minute for Chelsea loanee Patrick Bamford to wrap the game, their second on the trot. It is also the Dons' third straight victory in all competitions, but Robinson, who saw his side slip to three straight league defeats in November, insists the result does not mean they are back to their best. "This is a good Port Vale side. They came in with plenty of confidence. We knew how difficult it would be and it was a wonder goal that set us off. It's typical of Stephen Gleeson," Robinson said. "We've had players back fit. We've had certain players back in the right positions. We had a couple of clear-the-air talks. "We all understood where we were and what was not good enough. "But we're still nowhere near where we want to be and it's important we keep our feet firmly on the ground. "There's still an awful lot of work to be done. "There are still four or five big players to come back. Obviously we never took our eye off the play-offs. We know what it takes to get there. "We've been there many times before. But we haven't got the resources. I just hope we can keep all of our players."
