Turner: We should have won

Shrewsbury boss Graham Turner insisted he was disappointed at narrowly missing out on a win after Tuesday's 2-2 draw at home to MK Dons.

Bowditch set up Angelo Balanta for the Dons' opener on the stroke of half-time and then rescued the League One high-fliers with a dramatic late leveller when he smashed a controlled volley from the edge of the penalty area past goalkeeper Chris Weale. The hosts had taken 2-1 lead through goals from Luke Rodgers, on loan from Portsmouth, and MK old boy Mark Wright's fine curling effort which went in off the far post. Turner said: "We should have taken all three points. We had a terrific second half and once again it's a case of we've dropped points when we shouldn't have done. I couldn't have asked for very much from the effort of the players. "They worked tremendously hard against a good team and we always looked a threat on the break in the second half. It's an absolute travesty that we haven't taken all three points but the one consolation, the one bright spark, is that we played well. "There was good movement from the front players and I'm pleased that Luke Rodgers got off the mark. Him and Marvin Morgan have worked ever so well again and it could be the basis for us to start getting out of trouble."
