Yates slates 'poor' Robins

Cheltenham manager Mark Yates was unhappy with several aspects of his side's 2-0 home defeat to Bristol Rovers.

Second-half goals from Chris Zebroski and Eliot Richards ensured Mark McGhee got off to a winning start as Pirates boss and put a dent in the Robins' impressive home form. "It was a poor day, we didn't do what we do best and when that happens this is a tough league," said Yates. "I'm not happy with how we played, I'm not happy that there was no water on the pitch, so it didn't suit our style of play and I am not happy that the fans made no noise all day. "Sometimes the boys need something to spark them off, but it was like a morgue here. "If this is a little wake-up call then brilliant, but we can't afford to play like that too often. I'm not going to dig my players out too much, they know how I feel about that performance."
