Walsall's veteran goalkeeper Jimmy Walker has signed a new one-year deal at the Banks's Stadium.

Walker, 37, in his second spell at the club, made 29 appearances during the season just gone as the Saddlers narrowly avoided relegation. Walker said: "I'm not getting any younger and it's one thing I wanted to do so I'm happy. "I'm looking forward to the new season now it's all sorted and hopefully we'll be at the right end of the table, where we want to be because it's been a difficult season." Walker ended a six-year absence from the Banks's Stadium when he rejoined the club in October last year and has made a total of 505 appearances since making his Saddlers debut in 1993. He added: "I've had a fantastic time at the club. I get on great with all the fans and I've got some great friends here. It's a great club to be at and I just want to do well."
