Ainsworth: Confidence is low

Dejected Wycombe caretaker manager Gareth Ainsworth revealed that confidence is low in the camp following yet another defeat.

Goals from Dwight Gayle, a coolly-converted spot-kick from Michael Spillane and a late killer blow from Billy Bingham gave hosts Dagenham and Redbridge their first win of the season, 3-0, as managerless Wanderers were always second best on another frustrating day. Wycombe are now without a win since the opening day of the season after firing Gary Waddock during the week and Ainsworth said: "It's been a really tough start to the season I know that, and I know full well that the fans demand better. "I thought we did okay at times today, but there's just something missing. We haven't been clinical enough, we need to get into more dangerous areas, I could go on. "I do know that we can turn this situation around though. Confidence is low at the moment but the spirit in the camp must never be doubted. "I've got hard working staff and players who are always willing to learn, so we'll just keep plugging away."
