Notts County manager Chris Kiwomya was pleased with the performance of his young players against Colchester.
Kiwomya decided to blood a number of youngsters and he was delighted with how they responded - and with the 3-1 win after a run of three successive defeats. "They (the young players) went out there and were courageous and had a go and that's all you can ask," said Kiwomya. "But they had some good leaders on the pitch as well and that is what you need to nurse them through. "There are other players that I need to look at but I don't want to interrupt the team too much, but if you get your opportunity you've got to come in and take it. "It was a difficult game for us and Colchester started pretty well so I'm happy that we ground out the result. We played some good stuff at times. "We've played top-six teams the last three games and it has been tough but that was more like us." Goals from second-half substitutes Yoann Arquin and Romello Nangel sealed the three points for mid-table County after the first half had finished level at 1-1. Jabo Ibehre had earlier levelled for the U's after Jeff Hughes had put the hosts in front in an extended first half which was marred by a delay of over 10 minutes following an injury to Colchester's David Wright in a clash with Joss Labadie.
