Sheffield United's new signing Jamal Campbell-Ryce is thrilled to have become part of the club's promotion challenge next season.

The 31-year-old winger, out of contract at Notts County on July 1, has signed a two-year deal with the Blades and said he jumped at the chance of joining a "massive club". "As soon as I heard about the possible interest I told my agent to get the deal done," the Jamaica international told the club's official website. "It is a terrific opportunity, Sheffield United is a massive club that shouldn't be in League One and I hope I can play my part in getting them into the Championship next season." Blades boss Nigel Clough has long been an admirer of the former Rotherham, Southend, Barnsley and Bristol City midfielder, who played a key role in Notts County's relegation escape last season. "Personally it is a fantastic move and I feel it is my reward for helping Notts County stay up last season," Campbell-Ryce added. "I'm at my best when I'm running at defenders and putting them on the back foot. "I'm more experienced now and I appreciate there is competition for places. "I'm confident that I'll be able to offer a lot to the team when I'm given the chance."
