James Beattie hailed Accrington's battling qualities as they rescued a point with a last-minute equaliser in a 1-1 draw at York.
Shay McCarten's goal proved crucial to Beattie's side after they had trailed 1-0 courtesy of Michael Coulson's penalty after 60 minutes. With results at the bottom of the league going against Stanley, Beattie believes the point could prove priceless with four games of the season left. "I think that epitomises what we've been about all season," he said. "The lads never know when they're beaten, they never lie down for anybody and they keep going. As a manager that pleases me very much and it makes me proud. "I think the penalty was soft, to say the least, there's another similar decision about five minutes from the end in the middle of the pitch and he just waved it away. "But I've got nothing but praise for the players. That's the spirit we've got inside the dressing room. They look each other in the eye and can honestly say they run until the final whistle. "We go into every game hoping, and trying, to win it. We just have to keep working hard and producing results. Results elsewhere have been horrendous, so it could end up being the most important point of the season."
