Waddock gives Benyon warning

Elliot Benyon needs to keep working hard to win his place back in the Wycombe squad, according to manager Gary Waddock.

The High Wycombe-born striker has been out of favour in recent weeks and has not even been in the matchday 16 since the 3-1 Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat to Cheltenham at the start of October. He has fallen further down the pecking order after the emergence of 15-year-old Jordan Ibe. Benyon, who joined Wanderers on loan from Swindon in the summer, reminded Waddock of his ability with two goals for the reserves on Tuesday afternoon. But Waddock insists Benyon has a fight on his hands to get back into the squad. He told the Bucks Free Press: "It's up to him. He's got to continue to do well and work hard. If an opportunity comes along, he's got to be in the best shape to take it. "He wants to get into the team. He's done extra work - it's in his hands, really."
