Burton have completed the signing of defender David Gray from League One outfit Stevenage.

The 25-year-old, who was a youth-team player at Hearts and also spent time with Manchester United as a youngster, has signed a permanent deal with Albion until the end of the season. During his time at Old Trafford Gray had loan spells with United's feeder club Royal Antwerp, Crewe and Plymouth before leaving the Reds in the summer of 2010 to join Preston. Two years later he joined Stevenage and played 46 times during his first season with the club. However, during the final year of his contract this season Gray has found first-team opportunities limited and was told by Boro boss Graham Westley that he could leave during the January transfer window.
