Still salutes Daggers stopper

Dagenham & Redbridge boss John Still praised goalkeeper Chris Lewington after his side's goalless draw at Plymouth.

Lewington kept the Daggers in the game with saves either side of half-time to deny on-loan Crystal Palace forward Jason Banton and home skipper Conor Hourihane. "The first save was important and a really good save by Chris," said Still. "The second was more of a routine stop, which I would expect him to make. "If you get a point away from home you are always going to be happy, so we are happy. I understand Plymouth's position but I always knew this was going to be hard for us. "You have got to put it into perspective and we are a small club and Plymouth are a big club, so it's a good point for us. Whenever we get positive results in this league it is always a good result for us. "I thought we should have scored in the first half. "I said to the players before the game I felt this would be one of our toughest away league games this season. They've got a new manager in, had a couple of decent results and brought a few players in. "I know the lad Banton from Palace really well and Reuben Reid is always going to be an effective player on his day. "Before anything else we have to battle, and battle we did. Our goalkeeper had to make a save to keep us there but overall we would probably all say it worked out a fair result, a good result for us."
