McKenna calls for composure

Image: McKenna: Wants Shrimps to be ruthless

Morecambe assistant boss Ken McKenna bemoaned the Shrimps' inability to take their chances in a 1-0 defeat at Fleetwood.

The three points were secured by David Ball's header, the highlight of a superb second half display, but former Fleetwood man Richard Brodie had a huge chance to level when he beat Rob Atkinson but shot well wide just after the break. And Brodie had another chance to snatch a point in added time but Scott Davies in the Fleetwood goal was equal to the challenge to leave McKenna frustrated. He said: "I think the goal we conceded was against the run of play. "I thought we started the second half quite well, had a couple of half chances but when you're on top you've got to put your chances away. "We just needed that little bit of composure to put us in front when we were on top."
