More to come from Amond

Padraig Amond insists he is not concerned by his lack of goals following his summer move to Morecambe and hopes to score soon.

The 25-year-old scored nine times for Accrington last year but is yet to get off the mark since moving to the Globe Arena this summer and has found himself filling in on the wing due to injuries. The Shrimps have picked up just one league point and only Ryan Williams has netted so far but, with the likes of Kevin Ellison and Marcus Marshall now back to full fitness, Amond is adamant a change of fortune is just around the corner for Jim Bentley's men. Amond said: "The manager's spoken to me, he's not worried about the fact that I haven't scored yet because he knows I've been playing out of position and I've been doing a job for the team because of a few injuries. "Fingers crossed that if I do get a chance and a run up front I will get a couple of goals and get the first one at the weekend and start from there. "I suppose it's always nice if someone does chip in with 15 goals a season, and hopefully I can bag a few this year, but at the minute we have a bit of an injury problem so I'm willing to play anywhere for the team as long as we're starting to get the right results. "I'd sacrifice personal targets or goals and things like that if it means I'm setting them up for someone in a better position to do that. "We have a good squad; Jack Sampson's a striker, he's a very, very good player and the lads are coming back fit now so I think in the next couple of weeks you might see a very different Morecambe from what you've seen in the first couple of weeks of the season."
