Wilder: We rode our luck

Oxford boss Chris Wilder admitted his side were lucky not to concede a penalty in Saturday's goalless draw at Bristol Rovers in League Two.

Referee Phil Gibbs only gave a corner when Danny Woodards was sent flying by Oxford goalkeeper Ryan Clarke after a mazy run. The officials clearly felt Clarke got a touch on the ball and Woodards was heading away from goal but Wilder said: "I didn't think much of it at the time but Ryan Clarke admits he clipped the lad so we got away with one. "We could easily have had a spot-kick ourselves for handball in the second half so it probably evened out. "I felt we shaded the game so I'm a bit disappointed. But both sides showed a will to win playing in the proper manner so perhaps a draw was fair. "We made positive substitutions and went for all three points from start to finish, which is how we play away from home. I'm happy with the performance."
