Fleetwood's newest arrival Jamie Proctor is excited to be part of the Cod Army's first ever season in League One.

The prospect of working with manager and former Preston team-mate Graham Alexander proved to be a big lure for the former Crawley, Shrewsbury, Swansea, Stockport and Preston forward. Proctor told the club's website: "As soon as I heard about it, I jumped at the chance. "It's a club that is on the up, everybody is ambitious and I think it will get the best out of me. I like the way the club is moving forward and I'm just glad to be part of it now. "They're not happy even though they have had six promotions and if we can get another next year, that will be fantastic. "I know what he (Alexander) was like as a player and it came across now when I had a chat with now as a manager. He wants to win everything, there is no standing still and he will get the best out of everyone. "He was like that on the pitch the year I played with him. Full of encouragement, full of praise for everyone, but he won't take it easy on you. "He tries to improve everyone and the chats that I have had with him already, I can see that he personally doesn't want to stand still and he wants more and more success for this club."After breaking through at Preston, Proctor joined Swansea and his progress faltered slightly, with a loan move to Shrewsbury followed by a season-and-a-half at Crawley before his release this summer. He added: "It's also time for me to step up and have a season where everybody takes notice. Everybody realises what I can do and I want to start achieving something.
