Charley Hull has been rested for Saturday morning's foursomes at the Solheim Cup as Europe look to hit back from a disastrous second session on day one.
Hull appeared to aggravate a wrist injury while partnering Mel Reid in the opening match of the competition at Des Moines Golf and Country Club, and the problem intensified during her afternoon defeat alongside Georgia Hall.
The English star had her wrist wrist strapped up midway through Friday's fourballs as she and Hall slipped to a 2&1 loss against Stacy Lewis and Gerina Piller, and European captain Annika Sorenstam has wisely decided to omit Hull from her foursomes line-up for day two.
Asked about the severity of Hull's injury, Sorenstam replied: "At this point, I don't know, but I am going to talk to our physio to figure out what's going on. But I don't think it's a secret that she's had a wrist injury for a little while.
"If there's something lingering, we'll see. I do, as you probably can figure out, I do have a plan B without Charley, too. So we'll do what we can."
Reid, who did not feature in the fourballs whitewash, will instead by partnered by Danish rookie Emily Pedersen in the second match on Saturday against veteran Paula Creamer and Team USA debutant Austin Ernst.
The top match sees the home side again lead off with Cristie Kerr and Lexi Thompson, who won the final two holes to snatch a half against Reid and Hull on day one, with Jodi Ewart Shadoff and Caroline Masson heading out first for the visitors.
Lewis and Piller will play together for the third time as they face Anna Nordqvist and Georgia Hall, while Catriona Matthew and Karine Icher will aim to emulate their opening day win when they take on Michelle Wie and Danielle Kang in the anchor match.
