New Zealander Danny Lee will take a three-shot lead into the final round of the Phoenix Open after a stunning show on Saturday.
In front of the largest crowd in golf history with an estimated 201,003 fans packing TPC Scottsdale's Stadium Course in Arizona, Lee shot a four-under 67 to storm to the top of the leaderboard.
Rickie Fowler, who parred the final five holes for a 70, and Hideki Matsuyama (68) are three shots adrift.
The previous largest crowd at the Stadium Course was 189,722 in 2014. The tournament also set a day record on Friday at 160,415, and has drawn 535,035 overall. The weekly mark of 564,368 was set last year.
Lee had six birdies and two bogeys to reach 13-under 200. The 25-year-old South Korean-born New Zealander won the Greenbrier Classic last year for his first PGA Tour title.
"I'm very confident with my putting at the moment and it seems like my ball-striking worked well today as well, so it was a fun day," Lee told PGATour Radio.
"My iron game's really good right now and I've been putting well since I switched to a claw grip (two years ago), so it seems like everything's going smoothly right now."
One shot further behind is Bryce Molder, who fired a stunning 64, alongside Boo Weekley (65), with Phil Mickelson in fourth spot after a 65.
