Nedbank Golf Challenge was briefly halted due to a mongoose invasion

Victor Dubuisson almost lost his golf ball in unusual circumstances as he was stopped in his tracks by a mongoose invasion at the Nedbank Golf Challenge.

The charismatic Frenchman was making his way onto the green late in the latter stages of his first round at the Gary Player Country Club, but he was beaten to his ball by around 20 mongooses, who suddenly swarmed across the putting surface.

Many of the furry invaders stopped momentarily to check out Dubuisson's ball, but none were impressed enough to poach it as they carried on through the green to the amusement of the Frenchman and his playing partners, Lee Slattery and Johan Carlsson.

Luke Donald's round was interrupted by a large baboon with no golf etiquette

The incident was similar to one involving Luke Donald in Sun City two years ago, although the Englishman had to contend with a far bigger and more dangerous animal as he hot-footed it out of the way to avoid a rampaging baboon!
