Tommy Fleetwood reflects on a one-shot victory at the Open de France.

Tommy Fleetwood believes he is in the form of his life after claiming a second European Tour victory of the season at the Open de France.

The Englishman moved top of the Race to Dubai standings with an impressive performance at Le Golf National, home of next year's Ryder Cup, with a bogey-free 66 on Sunday, seeing him finish one clear of Peter Uihlein.

Fleetwood also won the early-season Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship and has delivered a string of strong displays in 2017, narrowly missing out at the WGC-Mexico Championship and taking fourth spot at the US Open.

Victory lifts Fleetwood inside the world's top 20 for the first time in his career, and the 26-year-old is delighted with his latest high-profile success.

"When it all got talked about last year, everybody knew these were the tournaments you wanted to play well in," Fleetwood said. "To win a Rolex Series event, knowing how big the stature is of everything now is a big deal for me.

"I played great today, felt comfy again and it's always great to test your game and test what you work on every day under the ultimate pressure.

"Life's just been great. I'm engaged, expecting a baby, my fiance is my manager, my caddie's one of my best mates in the world.

"Thommo (Alan Thompson) I think is the best coach in the world - everybody around me I have really strong relationships with and when you enjoy doing your job, that's a massive positive."

Fleetwood almost fired a hole-in-one at the second hole and added two more gains on his way to reaching the turn in 33, before back-to-back birdies from the 13th extended his advantage.

A run of pars along the closing stretch saw Fleetwood set the clubhouse target at 12 under, which Uihlein fell just short of despite a back-nine 31.

"I can't believe how close he (Uihlein) got," Fleetwood added. "On 14 I tapped in and I was four clear and finishing with four pars round here I didn't think I'd be scratching the win by a shot."
