US Ryder Cup captain Jim Furyk says it is great to see Tiger Woods swinging a driver again.

USA Ryder Cup captain Jim Furyk has been encouraged by Tiger Woods’ recent swing videos, although admits it will be difficult to return in time to feature in the 2018 contest.

Furyk has been following Woods' rehabilition videos on social media, with the 14-time major champion releasing three posts on Twitter over the past eight showing signs of recovery.

Woods tweeted a video of him hitting irons on the course on October 7 and another three days later of him practising with Kevin Chappell, with the latest showing him make a full swing with a driver.

"The swing looked good," Furyk told Sky Sports. "It looked a lot like Tiger. It didn't have the speed that we're used to quite yet, but he's recovering and that's what he probably needs to build up.

"It's nice to see him swinging a golf club. I know he wants to get back playing golf and I know he would love to play golf competitively and I think that would be great for golf."
