Danny Willett has called time on his golfing year after sustaining a shoulder injury at Valderrama last week.
The 2016 Masters champion tweeted the news on Saturday, explaining: "Gutted to have to shut down my 2017 season.
"Damaged rotator cuff in my left shoulder last week and need a period of total rest. #devastated."
Willett has endured a disappointing year on Tour, posting just a single top-10 finish in 21 starts.
After reaching a career-high No 9 during 2016, the 30-year-old has now slipped to No 78 in the World Ranking.
