Andrew Johnston has been a crowd favourite around the world for the last three years, but he earned the adulation of Jon Rahm fans on day two at the Open de Espana.
Beef joined in the search party for Rahm's ball after the local hero pulled his drive into thick rough on the 15th in Madrid, and the world No 4 would have been considering a return to the tee as the clock ticked down.
But Johnston, who won his maiden European Tour title in this event at Valderrama in 2016, caught a glimpse of a ball buried in the long grass to the left of the fairway.
Rahm arrived on the scene and was able to identify it as his ball, and he was fortunate to be awarded a free drop for an embedded lie.
And, as Rahm went through the process of the drop, Beef made his way back to the fairway and received one of the loudest cheers of the tournament when the galleries realised his part in helping out his Spanish playing partner.
