Ballesteros upbeat ahead of second course of chemo

Seve Ballesteros has reported that test results had gone well following his first course of chemotherapy. The 51-year-old underwent four operations on a brain tumour last year and at one stage was in a critical condition in intensive care. However, his recovery appears to be on track and he is due to proceed with further treatment. "Fortunately the results were quite good," Ballesteros said on his website. "This Friday shall begin my second course which I hope and wish will be as effective as the first one. "I am very motivated and working hard, although I am aware that my recovery will be slow and therefore I need to be patient and have a lot of determination." The Spaniard also paid tribute to the support from fans around the world who continue to send him messages of goodwill. "I want to take this opportunity to thank them for their support and energy that is coming to me from all over the world and which is proving so good," he said.
