Donald and Westwood sign up for Mission Hills

Two of the world's top four players, Luke Donald and Lee Westwood, have confirmed their participation in this November's HSBC Champions event in China. England's top two stars are joined in the field by former winners Martin Kaymer - the reigning champion - and American Phil Mickelson who triumphed in both 2007 and 2009. Germany's Kaymer, who carded a stunning nine-under-par 63 to win the 2012 event by three shots from Fredrik Jacobson, will attempt to defend the title on a different course from last year. After six years at Sheshan International in Shanghai, the tournament moves to Mission Hills in Guangdong where the Olazabal layout will host the multi-million dollar event.

Lucky charm

Kaymer said: "I think HSBC is a lucky charm for me! Last year I won HSBC tournament in Abu Dhabi and then had an amazing week at the Champions in November. "It is a little bit of a disadvantage to be defending my title on a different course but I really liked the Olazabal Course when I played the World Cup there in 2009. "This is the biggest event we play in Asia and it is one that everyone wants to win." The event was first staged in 2006, with the tournament granted WGC status three years ago. This year's instalment will run from November 1-4.
