Amateurs have been getting the chance to beat the pro with a nearest-the-pin challenge at the Lyoness Open

Amateur golfers often dream about the chance to play on the biggest stage, but would they could cope against the European Tour stars?

This week's Lyoness Open has offered the chance for local golfers the chance to mix it with the pros by going head to head in a nearest-the-pin challenge at Diamond Country Club's par-three 18th.

Although some of the amateurs safely negotiated the water hazard and the spectators to find the green, others let their nerves get the better of them in comical fashion.
