Marc Warren is pleased with his current form as he continues his busy schedule by looking to defend his Made In Denmark title.

Warren, who held off Welshman Bradley Dredge to secure his first European Tour title in almost seven years at last year's inaugural event, heads to Denmark off the back of a tied-48th finish at the PGA Championship.

A three-under 68 in the final round 12 months ago gave Warren a two-shot victory, with the 34-year-old looking for a repeat performance when he tees off alongside Soren Kjeldsen and former European No 1 Robert Karlsson.

"This is a fantastic event for the European Tour," Warren said. "It was an incredible week and the crowds were amazing.

"It was the week after the PGA Championship and it definitely had the same feel to it. Especially coming down the last four holes, the atmosphere was amazing."

Warren's packed schedule means the world No 50 is making his seventh start in just eight weeks at Himmerland, but the Scot remains confident of being able to put in another strong display.

"I've played a lot of golf, the Paul Lawrie Match Play was a long week and then straight to America after that," Warren added. "The good thing is I don't feel like I need to practice too much, as my form is pretty good.

"Obviously we're playing a lot of golf at this time of year, so there's not too much to go and work on. It's just a matter of resting, staying fresh and I'm sure that won't be an issue when I get out on the golf course on Thursday."

Crowds of more than 80,000 people came out to see the European Tour return to Denmark last year, with this week's event seeing Ryder Cup captain Darren Clarke featuring alongside home duo Thomas Bjorn and Thorbjorn Olesen.

Record breaking

Fellow Dane Kjeldsen became the second-youngest player in European Tour history to reach 500 appearances when he featured at last week's final major of the year and only the 30th player to ever reach the landmark.

The Irish Open champion posted an impressive a tied-12th finish at the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational before heading to Whistling Straits, with the 40-year-old now looking to continue his strong season.

"I was a little bit tired yesterday but I'll be ready for Thursday," Kjeldsen said. "The course stood up really nice last year and this year I think there'll be a little less wind, so we should see a few more birdies.

"I'm proud that I've hung in that long, as 500 is a lot of tournaments. It has been fantastic and I feel I'm still going strong.

"I certainly don't feel like I'm ready to pack it in. This year has shown I'm still playing well and I still think I'm developing."
