Rookie Cody Gribble produced a final round far beyond his years to win the Sanderson Farms Championship in Mississippi by four shots.
26-year-old Gribble was playing in only his eighth PGA Tour event, and second as a tour member, and his victory was all the more impressive considering his opening round effort.
He had struggled to a one-over 73 on Thursday but went 21 under across the next 54 holes and closed with a bogey-free round of 65 to turn what had been a tight tournament into a rout.
Gribble was one behind Chris Kirk and Luke List heading into the last 18 holes and took his time to get into top spot, making just a couple of his birdies on the front nine.
List dropped an early shot, but picked up two when he eagled the fifth, while Kirk's front nine was frustrating affair that ended with nine pars.
And that gave Gribble the chance to blow the tournament wide open on the way home, as he started his back nine with birdies at the 11th and 13th to reach the summit.
List and Kirk both birdied the 11th as well, but they were left trailing by Gribble's birdie blitz at the 15th, 16th and 17th as he stormed clear of the field and closed on 20 under.
Gribble, who was a team-mate of Jordan Spieth in his collegiate days, said: "There's no words right now. It's an unbelievable experience."
Kirk managed one more birdie at the 15th while List parred his way home, with both players finishing four adrift on 16 under alongside England's Greg Owen, finishing runner-up for the third time in his lengthy PGA Tour career.
Owen closed with a round of 68 but was left to rue dropped shots at the eighth and 12th holes as he was trying to build momentum to keep tabs on Gribble.
Former US Open champion Lucas Glover finished in a tie for fifth after closing with a 70, where he was joined by Japan's Hiroshi Iwata (68) and another youngster Xander Schauffele, who carded a fine round of 66.
