Defending champion Brendan Steele is in contention at the halfway stage of the Safeway Open.
Steele followed up an impressive opening round of 65 with another strong day to trail leader Tyler Duncan by a shot going into Saturday's third round.
The 2016 Safeway Open winner carded a second round of 67 to end day two on 12 under par in Napa, California.
Steele nailed back-to-back birdies on the 12th and 13th - including a 129-yard approach which landed within inches of the pin.
Fellow American Duncan, who started on the back nine, dropped shots at the second, third and fourth hole but rallied to card a six-under round of 66 with three birdies and an eagle in his last five holes.
The only Brit in the top 10 at the halfway stage is England's Brian Davis. The 43-year-old is five shots off the lead after a second round of 66.
He hit six birdies on the back nine to move to eight under par.
Scotland's Martin Laird is a further two shots back on six under. He is tied for 15th place with 42-time PGA Tour winner Phil Mickelson, who has a pair of three-under rounds of 69.
The third round of the Safeway Open gets underway at 10.30pm live on Sky Sports Golf.
