Rose became the first Englishman since Nick Faldo in 1996 to win a major with his triumph at Merion in June and believes he'll be ready to challenge for his second major title.
"I will be (ready for the Open)," he said.
"I've got some preparation ahead of me the next two weeks to try and really get into some links golf and get my game ready for that but, yeah, definitely looking forward to the Open Championship."
"It's good to be back (in the UK), really good to be back. It's great to be seeing some family while I'm here and obviously the sun was shining on our return which is always a nice welcome."
The world No 3 expressed his delight at managing to achieve a lifelong ambition by prevailing at the season's season major.
"Obviously, to win a major is a dream come true, to win the US Open is an honour," he added.
"You know, I've been playing a lot of golf in the States of late. To break through in a major championship is something my game has been working towards for a long time."
