Northants vs Essex
Northants win by seven wickets!
Crook top edges the first ball of the 19th over over Foster's head and Northants have reached their first final!! Essex have now lost four semi-finals in the competition!
Over 18 - Northants 167-3 (White 36, Crook 42)
A disastrous start to the 18th over for Essex as Napier is dispatched for six by Crook and to make matters worse, a no-ball is called for too few men inside the circle. Crook and White then trade fours meaning just three are needed from two overs
Over 17 - Northants 150-3 (White 32, Crook 31)
The Northants onslaught continues! White chips in with two boundaries off Topley and Crook adds two more via bat and boot. Just 19 needed from 18 balls now. Game over?
Over 16 - Northants 133-3 (White 24, Crook 26)
Six, six, six!! Phillips' last over is an expensive one, costing 20! White plants him back down the ground for six before Crook adds maximums over long-on and square-leg to reduce the target to 36 from 24 balls
Over 15 - Northants 113-3 (White 17, Crook 13)
A much-needed six from Crook ends the 15th over! That's the first Northants boundary since the ninth over! Back in his crease, Crook gets one in the slot from Tait and dispatches him over long-on. Cracking shot!
Over 14 - Northants 102-3 (White 16, Crook 3)
Northants just drifting behind the rate now as Phillips limits White and Crook to singles. 67 needed from 36
Over 13 - Northants 97-3 (White 13, Crook 2)
A crucial partnership right now as Crook joins White. The pair exchange singles as Masters finishes his four overs with 1-30
Wakely ct and bld Masters 3
A soft, soft dismissal as Wakely presents a leading edge straight back to Masters. Northants wobbling now
Over 12 - Northants 93-2 (White 11, Wakely 2)
No sign of panic from White just yet and the big-hitting Aussie is content to knock Phillips around for singles. Six added, plus a leg-side wide
Over 11 - Northants 86-2 (White 8, Wakely 1)
Pressure on Northants captain Wakely as he comes out to the middle - he has plenty of runs to make up after dropping Napier earlier on. Topley finishes his over well though after removing Levi and has 2-11 from three overs so far
Levi ct Rutherford bld Topley 57
Levi cannot believe it! He has skewed a full toss from Topley straight to long on, where Rutherford runs in and takes a simple catch
Over 10 - Northants 83-1 (Levi 57, White 6)
Foster brings back gun bowler Tait but he can't stop the boundary count rising as White lofts him over extra cover for four more. At the halfway stage Northants are three runs shy of where they need to be
Over 9 - Northants 76-1 (Levi 55, White 1)
A tidy over from Topley and an element of control for the first time in a while for Essex. Just six runs conceded, and the wicket of Coetzer
Coetzer ct Bopara bld Topley 18
Essex finally make the breakthrough when Coetzar drives Topley straight to Bopara at mid-off. Essex needed that! In comes Cameron White...
Over 8 - Northants 70-0 (Levi 54, Coetzer 14)
Essex turn for spin in the shape of Phillips and he delivers a welcome boundary-less over for his side. Six off his opening over
Over 7 - Northants 64-0 (Levi 52, Coetzer 10)
Really fine batting from Levi here has put Essex firmly on the back foot. Coetzer then chips in with a thick edge which races to the boundary
50 for Levi!
Levi reaches his milestone after just 27 balls with a fourth six, this time planting Napier over long-on. That's his 13th in T20 cricket
Over 6 - Northants 51-0 (Levi 44, Coetzer 5)
Topley calms things down with only two singles conceded from the sixth over and Northants end the powerplay on exactly the same total as Essex had done earlier on
Over 5 - Northants 49-0 (Levi 43, Coetzer 4)
Brutal batting from Levi! He takes Masters, who had conceded only six runs from his first 14 deliveries, for 20 from his next four! Attacking the leg-side, Levi pulls twice for two sixes and adds two fours through the on-side for good measure. Steelbacks up with the rate...
Over 4 - Northants 28-0 (Levi 23, Coetzer 3)
Quarter-final hero Tait comes into the attack and clocks 90mph with his first ball! He rushes both batsmen with his searing pace but a short wide delivery allows Levi to flay a boundary over the covers. Seven off the Aussie quick's opening over
Over 3 - Northants 21-0 (Levi 18, Coetzer 2)
Masters continues to give neither Northants batsman anything to hit, operating stump to stump and conceding just four singles from his second over
Over 2 - Northants 16-0 (Levi 16, Coetzer 0)
Much better batting from powerful South African Levi, who takes Napier's opening over for 15. A six over long-on gives Napier something to think about and Levi then pounces on a short, wide delivery, cutting hard through point for four more
Over 1 - Northants 1-0 (Levi 1, Coetzer 0)
Brilliant start from wily Essex seamer Masters, who concedes only a single to the attacking Levi. Some nip off the pitch for the veteran right-armer and Levi can't deal with it
Thrill of the chase
Levi and Coetzer are striding out to bat. Masters to open the bowling for Essex...
Northants require 169 for victory
A brutal unbeaten 54-run partnership between Napier and Foster has shifted the momentum of the match drastically in Essex's favour at the halfway stage. Napier ended with 38 not out off only 15 balls, while captain Foster chipped in with 32 from 24. Stay tuned for the run-chase!
Over 20 - Essex 168-5 (Napier 38, Foster 32)
Napier continues to hurt Wakely and his team, taking Azharullah for two huge sixes at the start of the final over before adding a four for good measure. A brilliant finish from the Eagles, who must defend 168-5 to progress
Over 19 - Essex 149-5 (Napier 21, Foster 31)
Willey targets Napier with the short ball but the Essex all-rounder is up to the task, hooking high into the stands for six more. A four follows through midwicket before...Drop! Wakely drops a dolly at mid-off to hand Napier a life. To pour salt into the wound, Napier then slashes Willey's final ball over extra cover for four more! 17 runs in total off the penultimate over. Willey ends with 0-43
Over 18 - Essex 132-5 (Napier 5, Foster 30)
Foster is playing a little gem for his side here, sweeping a slower ball from Crook over the vacant midwicket for another four. Eight off Crook, who ends with 1-32
Over 17 - Essex 124-5 (Napier 3, Foster 25)
Foster targets the final ball of the over yet again and a misfield from Willey allows the ball to slip through and into the boundary. Seven off Daggett, who finishes with 0-29 from his four overs
Over 16 - Essex 117-5 (Napier 1, Foster 20)
The wicket of ten Doeschate came after Foster had absolutely nailed a sweep shot to send Azharullah over square-leg for six. Napier is the latest big-hitter at the crease and he gets off the mark with single after a first wide of the innings
Ten Doeschate ct Levi bld Azharullah 13
Azharullah does it again! Ten Doeschate slices high towards third man and Levi takes a simple catch. Big wicket for the Steelbacks
Over 15 - Essex 106-4 (Ten Doeschate 12, Foster 12)
Just three runs apiece added from RTD and Foster off Crook's third over. A brilliant piece of fielding from Willey on the boundary's edge preventing a four
Over 14 - Essex 99-4 (Ten Doeschate 9, Foster 9)
Northants bring back left-arm pace bowler Willey and his comeback over starts well with four singles from the first five balls but Foster has the final say by getting down on one knee and sweeping the last delivery fine for a boundary
Over 13 - Essex 91-4 (Ten Doeschate 7, Foster 2)
Northants can count themselves incredibly unlucky again as ten Doeschate survives a plumb lbw appeal from Spreigel. The bowler can't believe it! Six runs added from the spinner's first over
Over 12 - Essex 85-4 (Ten Doeschate 4, Foster 1)
Drop! Almost two in two balls for Coetzer but White cannot hang on to a sharp chance at backward point. Ten Doeschate receives a life and is now joined by captain Foster
Bopara ct Spriegel bld Coetzer 14
Huge wicket for Northants as Spriegel holds a steepler on the midwicket boundary. Part-timer Coetzer celebrates a rare scalp with the ball!
Over 11 - Essex 81-3 (Ten Doeschate 1, Bopara 14)
That wicket brings dangerman Ten Doeschate to the middle. He gets off the mark with a single to square-leg. Match nicely poised...
Pettini ct Murphy bld Middlebrook 27
Pettini is deceived in the flight by Middlebrook and can only top-edge his attempted heave straight up, where Murphy moves round from behind the stumps to claim
Over 10 - Essex 77-2 (Pettini 26, Bopara 12)
A tidy over from Daggett, who mixes up his pace to limit Pettini and Bopara to singles. Ravi looks ready to open his shoulders...
Over 9 - Essex 72-2 (Pettini 23, Bopara 10)
Northants turn to spin for the first time in the form of Middlebrook and, after conceding just three singles, he can count himself unlucky to see a fine edge from Pettini trickle to the boundary
Over 8 - Essex 64-2 (Pettini 17, Bopara 8)
Bopara finds the fence for the first time with a crushing extra over drive which flashes to the fence. He and Pettini then milk the singles to take Daggett for 10 in total
Over 7 - Essex 54-2 (Pettini 13, Bopara 2)
Azharullah has not been overawed by the occasion and concedes just three singles from his second over, almost finding Bopara's edge in the process
Over 6 - Essex 51-2 (Pettini 11, Bopara 1)
Pettini brings up the Essex 50 in the final powerplay over with a late cut off new bowler Daggett which reaches the fence. Deft
Over 5 - Essex 44-2 (Pettini 5, Bopara 0)
Just the wicket Northants needed and new man Bopara is unable to score from his first two deliveries
Rutherford ct Wakely bld Azharullah 36
Azharullah removes the dangerous Rutherford, who can only pull straight to Wakely at midwicket
Rutherford moves through gears and takes 16 from the fourth over, bowled by Crook. After edging through the vacant slip region the New Zealander then carves Crook over point for the first six before adding four through the same region to end an expensive over
Over 3 - Essex 21-1 (Pettini 5, Rutherford 14)
A decent second over from Willey is ruined last ball when he offers up some width and Pettini cuts hard through his beloved backward point area to find the boundary
Over 2 - Essex 13-1 (Pettini 0, Rutherford 11)
A brilliant opening over from Crook costs just three and accounts for Smith. Pettini is the new man
Smith ct Daggett bld Crook 2
Crook gets the breakthrough as Smith flashes down to third man where Daggett takes a simple catch on the boundary
Over 1 - Essex 10-0 (Smith 1, Rutherford 9)
A dramatic start to the day as Rutherford nicks the second ball, only for White to spill a sharp diving catch at second slip. The New Zealander makes the most of his reprieve by flicking the next ball over square-leg for six before driving over long-off for three more
Here we go...
