The Golden State Warriors were given an almighty scare by the Brooklyn Nets before continuing their perfect start to the NBA season with an overtime win.

Andre Iguodala pulled the Warriors level with 5.9 seconds remaining in regulation play but the Nets missed an even later chance to win before being outclassed in overtime and losing 107-99.

Saturday's matchup looked to be one of the day's sure-fire home wins, with the defending champions having won their first 10 games and the Nets arriving in Oakland with a 1-9 record.

But the Oracle Arena crowd was stunned into silence in the first period as the Nets made a flying start, with Thaddeus Young and Jarrett Jack helping them into a 36-21 lead.

The Warriors were stung into action in the second, closing the deficit to two, but the Nets made light of their early season struggles by moving seven points clear heading into the last 12 minutes.

Stephen Curry was ice cold in the first half, but his shooting improved and 21 of his 34 points came after half-time as the Warriors fought their way back into the game and briefly put them in front going into the last minute.

Jack and Young each hit a pair of free throws to give the Nets a three-point lead again, but Iguodala levelled the scores from beyond the arc.

Curry received plenty of help from Draymond Green, who piled up a triple-double with 16 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists - he also had a pair of steals and four blocked shots in a superb all-round performance. The Warriors also got 10 points and 18 rebounds from Andrew Bogut off the bench.

But it was Iguodala who received the plaudits of his team-mates with Curry saying: "We were fortunate to have a shot down the stretch the way we played for 36 minutes.

"We really didn't have much going for us and they played well. And then Andre came up huge. He stepped up with a big-time shot."

And interim coach Luke Walton added: "He plays his best when you need him to. When he hit the three, he ran by and said 'I got you coach.' He's just really good."
