Conor McGregor says he will change the face of boxing by knocking out Floyd Mayweather.

Conor McGregor has told Sky Sports News HQ he will change the face of boxing by beating Floyd Mayweather.

The Mixed Martial Arts supremo was in a confident and cheerful mood in front of a full SSE Wembley Arena on Friday evening, on the last leg of the World Press Tour for their August 26 fight.

McGregor, who was celebrating his 29th birthday, had the crowd behind him and made it clear that he will not only beat Mayweather but replace him as the sport's biggest star.

"I'm going to change the face of the game the same way I have for Mixed Martial Arts," he told Sky Sports News HQ.

"I'm going to change the way fighting is approached."

After mocking Mayweather's dress sense for the fourth time in as many press events promoting the fight, McGregor turned on 'Money' and adviser Leonard Ellerbe with some typically brash words of warning.

"I am boxing," he said.

"I've got to be real, when his [Mayweather's] legacy is destroyed in six weeks' time, it will fall on you [Leonard Ellerbe] and Mayweather Sr's shoulders.

"He could've rode off into the sunset at 49-0. Instead, this is my first time in a boxing ring and in six weeks' time... I run boxing.

"How did they let me ride in here? They got greedy, that's what."

McGregor then strolled past Mayweather and patted him on the head, to roars of laughter from the Wembley crowd.

The 29-year-old went on to mock Mayweather's "high heel" shoes, while the American sat patiently before getting his turn in the boxing ring.

Mayweather's response began with the familiar 'Hard Work' chant, only for the crowd to start booing with a chorus of 'Same Old, Same Old'.

'Money' went through his 21-year routine as McGregor sat at the press conference table with his feet up.

During the news conference, Mayweather accused McGregor of using racist language before directing a homophobic slur at the Irishman.

He did, though, suggest that he wants to add a fifth and final stop on the tour - and head to McGregor's homeland of Ireland on Saturday.

Mayweather suggested he "owned Ireland" but it was soon drowned out by the crowd, leaving him to try and win some friends back by singing McGregor happy birthday.

McGregor said he will enjoy his birthday with his girlfriend and his son before returning to Las Vegas where his preparations for the bout will intensify.

"It's been a crazy couple of days but enjoyable," he added. "I've enjoyed every stop and every one was uniquely different.

"It was like we had become something other than prizefighters and it has been enjoyable but it's good to get back to doing what we do best.

"I am a prize fighter at the end of the day and I am the best prizefighter there is.

"We'll be fighting up until the night of the fight and on the night of the fight I'm going to shock the whole damn world."
