WWE Smackdown: Roman Reigns flattens Billy Gunn in main event
Roman Reigns continued his hot streak by spearing New Age Outlaw Billy Gunn on Smackdown.
Last Updated: 21/01/14 3:23pm
The manoeuvre dispatched FOUR men at Survivor Series, defeated CM Punk in the main event of Old School Raw and, on Friday night, clobbered one half of the New Age Outlaws, Billy Gunn.
Reigns teamed with Shield stablemates Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins to take on Gunn, Road Dogg and CM Punk in the blue brand's showpiece match, with the black-clad renegades hoping to prove that there was no dissension in their ranks.
And the former NXT Superstars - whose unity was questioned by "Rowdy" Roddy Piper on Piper's Pit earlier in the week - displayed their strength, before Reigns struck to hand his squad the win.
Smackdown's opening bout between Luke Harper and Erick Rowan and Jimmy and Jey Uso ended in a double count-out after the action spilled outside the ring - but the Samoan brothers were attacked by their rivals' buddies, Bray Wyatt and Daniel Bryan, as they headed to the locker room.
Summer Rae was also subjected to a post-match beat-down, by The Funkadactyls, after her dance partner had been beaten by Xavier Woods, while Rey Mysterio, Sin Cara and Los Matadores overcame The Real Americans and Rybaxel in a high-octane encounter.
Randy Orton - who will defend his WWE World Heavyweight Title against John Cena at the Royal Rumble in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - floored Intercontinental Champion Big E Langston with an RKO.
Plus, Big Show revealed his dislike for Brock Lesnar on MizTV and challenged him to a fight - a proposal which the Anomaly's mouthpiece, Paul Heyman, accepted on his client's behalf, with the match now locked in for the Royal Rumble pay-per-view.
