Two-time British senior weightlifting champion Shila Panjavi has been suspended for four years over an anti-doping offence.

Panjavi, from London, tested positive for a metabolite of stanozolol, an exogenous anabolic androgenic steroid, following an in-competition test at the British Weightlifting Championships on June 12, 2016.

She retained her 58kg title at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry with a best snatch lift of 74kg and a lift of 101kg in the clean and jerk.

The 24-year-old is the second British athlete banned for a doping offence this week.

On Tuesday, Commonwealth Games freestyle wrestling bronze medallist Chinu Sandhu was handed a four-year ban for a positive doping test, also for a metabolite of stanozolol.
