Manchester Thunder hit the highest total of the Vitality Superleague season as they beat the Celtic Dragons 72-52 to maintain their perfect start.

The star-studded Thunder led by Vitality Player of the Match Helen Housby had too much for the Dragons as they added a second victory to the Super Saturday victory over Team Northumbria.

Coach Dan Ryan said: "We're pretty happy to start the season with two wins and a 20-goal margin over the Dragons is a good win.

"We had three fantastic quarters but were pretty off the pace in the third quarter and credit to Dragons as they were sensational in that quarter."

He added: "We have to look at that and see what changed from our perspective - we made personnel changes but the game plan hadn't shifted. We've had a rough quarter in both the opening matches and we'll need to look at putting it all together in training this week."

After a dominant first half from the Thunder, the Dragons hit back in the third quarter to outscore the home side by six points and ensure a tight contest but the eventual 20-goal margin of victory ensured a good day for coach Dan Ryan's team.
